Do you accept insurance?
Yes — insurance is accepted for mental health counseling services, including Aetna, United Health Care, BlueCross BlueShield, OptumHealth, Medicaid, Medicare, and GEHA. Medical services (hormone therapy and weight loss) are offered through private pay membership plans. Contact us at (843) 900-3590 to confirm your coverage.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available for all services — counseling, hormone therapy consultations, and medical weight loss. If you're located anywhere in South Carolina, you can access Carolina Grace care without coming into our Summerville office.
What hormone therapy services do you provide?
We offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for women experiencing menopause or perimenopause, and testosterone therapy for men dealing with low T, energy decline, or hormonal changes with aging. All hormone protocols are personalized through a collaborative care team with prescribing clinicians — not off-the-shelf solutions.
Do I need a referral to get started?
No referral is needed. You can schedule counseling directly online, or call (843) 900-3590 or email Getstarted@carolinagracebcc.com to get started with hormone therapy or weight loss services. Provider referrals may be faxed to (854) 246-8965.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes — Carolina Grace is currently accepting new patients across all three service areas: hormone replacement therapy, mental health counseling, and medical weight loss. Because we operate a boutique model with a limited patient panel, availability is intentionally finite. We encourage you to reach out promptly.
How is a boutique practice different from a regular clinic?
The biggest difference is time and continuity. Boutique clients at Carolina Grace have same-day or next-day access, longer appointments, and a consistent care team that knows their history. We deliberately limit our patient panel so each person receives the attentiveness their care requires — not a rushed 10-minute slot.
Is medical weight loss just another GLP-1 prescription?
No. While we do offer clinically supervised GLP-1 protocols where appropriate, our approach begins with understanding your specific metabolic, hormonal, and behavioral picture. We don't prescribe a medication and wish you luck — we build a personalized plan that addresses why weight management has been difficult, not just how to temporarily shift the scale.
What if I've never tried therapy before and don't know where to start?
Most people who reach out to us have never been to therapy. The first step isn't a commitment — it's a conversation. Our therapists use evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR) and meet you where you are. You don't need to have a crisis to benefit. You just need to be curious about feeling better.
